- I talked to Dan Bell, Manager of Support at USR last week, who doesn't
- seem convinced that USR support for us Sportster people is much of a
- problem. He claims average 5 minute support call waits !?! and
- adequate BBS and online support response times. For those of us
- complaining that we wait more like a month, it appears that Mr. Bell
- doesn't understand what it is like to interface with his company for
- support. He claims he also follows this group and doesn't think anyone
- is having much of a problem from posts here. Dan gave me some direct
- phone numbers for followup and I STILL can't get questions answered or
- calls returned.

- You can submit your experiences to the site which will be added and
- counted. More nominations will put them in the hall-of-fame. The
- M&G page is a popular online collection of products where support is
- really out-of-whack.

- I might also suggest writing to Mr. Casey Cowell at USR (address in
- your modem manual) who is the president of this outfit and letting him
- know what you think about their support regarding poor playback
- volume, buggy voicemail operation, etc. Make sure you have done your
- homework first by seeing if their tech tips have your problem
- included. Any complaints should be credible to get action.

- I hate to suggest this action on any company that I have really liked
- and recommended in the past, but this support situation is now
- bordering on ridiculous. The whole idea is to get USR to staff-up or
- whatever they have to do to make sure us Sportster buyers don't get
- left on a limb. Courier buyers apparently get good support.
